Now, I’ve seen a decent amount of reviews for so many different things, and in my opinion they all tend to have a bit of a ramble through the ins and outs of the band, the tracks individually.. so on and so forth. Baring this in mind I shall begin.

I stumbled across this band purely by chance, and I think they’re worth a little look at.

They are The Young Gods, a Swiss industrial band founded in 1985.

The album I fell into was L’Eau Rouge/Red Water, their 2nd album released in 1989. I’ve read other peoples thoughts on this album likening them to Pink Floyd and Nine Inch Nails amongst others, I can see their point of view, but I tend to lean more towards Rammstein, but in French. Not in a heavy way, just the feel.

I’m not gonna gerbil on about each track, I’ll just recommend you put it on, if you like the opening 30 seconds, the chances are you’ll happily go through the whole lot, as I did.

I had a go at some of their later work, from the album Appear Disappear a 2025 release. I didn’t think it had the same impact as the earlier L’Eau Rouge album, but that’s just my take.

Have a listen, I’ll be interested to hear what you all think about this, I enjoyed the change of direction from my usual choice of earhole lovelyness.

Short and sweet.. Till next time..
